Hoping you can give me some advice about my stressy TB.
He has been at his current yard since January and seems fairly happy. He has always been in a herd of five and seemed fine, but could not be left on his own or turned out first.
The herd has now dropped to three, one on box rest ( which by the way mine was blamed for, that's another thread!) and one has left the yard very recently.
Tonight he was brought in first so he wasn't left on his own. My friend who brought him in put him in his stable and he just screamed for her gelding. Now there are lots of other horses on the yard that he can see and he has never had any attachment to this particular horse. He was also weaving pretty bad which he does sometimes.
Do you think it's just because of the recent changes to the herd? Any suggestions on what to do?
I'm hoping to move to a new yard soon and don't want it to be a major problem

1. Leave him out
2. Get a permanent companion for him (like a Shetland) so he isn't separated from it.
3. Try a stable mirror
4. Try distracting him with feed whenever you leave the other horse.
5. Turn him out in a larger group so he meets new friends
