Seperating feed availability

I have had one or two ideas... but I wondered if anyone else has come up with a solution to the following?
I have a 14hh pony and three Shetlands and I like for them all to share the same field when possible. However, the challenge is that the pony needs access to more hay than the shetlands and if there's any hay available the shetlands eat it all up whilst the pony is wandering about thinking about something or other!!
Is there a crafty way someone has found of feeding a taller pony and keeping it out of reach of shetlands?

Fix a hay bar in somewhere, even if you have to screw it into a corner and line the 2 fence sides with ply.
I have one in the biggest shelter, easy to lob sections in there for my 14hh, no shetlands can reach into it.

Big plastic tub! If you search for Dolav or plastic pallet crate, you'll find a shetland proof solution!
