Self indulgent pointless post, sorry.
Weve had awful trouble with our 1 yr old lurcher howling when we leave him alone but I think weve had a breakthrough, touching wood.

When he was ill the other week we left his cage door open overnight as we slept downstairs with him and he was fine, mind you he really was feeling sorry for himself. His howling last weekend was that bad I really had had enough so we decided to try him loose in the house. Gotta admit I was dreading what I could come home to. We left him for 40 mins the first day and he was asleep on the settee when I came home, an hour yesterday afternoon and an hour and half whilst we nipped to the pub last night and an hour today and he was fine, no howling and not a thing out of place. We are so relieved. Even hugged the hubby when we came in last night as I was so happy!!
Ive brought his plastic bed into the front room as I want to try and replace his cage with it although he prefers to sleep in his cage at the mo. Theres just no room for the cage and I cant wait to see the back of it.

Thats great well done. I have been having similar problem and i can now leave my girl for 2 and half hours during the day so i know what you have been going through.
Its a great feeling when it starts to pay off isnt it

Aww thank you both for replying.
It may just be a fluke but we are feeling hopeful that we may have made a breakthrough. Hes such a good boy and if we can crack this he will be perfect
