spent all last winter being fed up, had snow for 3 months and when there was no snow we had sheet ice which made riding nigh on impossible. I can count the number of decent days on 1 hand that we have had this summer. Im looking for another LW rug to buy for my horse as the one he has is saturated. I dont mind riding on damp dull days but we have had day after day of torrential driving rain. My horse lives out and I dont have facilities, oh for an indoor school.Just really fed up.

Same here, am totally sick of it.
I resorted to buying my welsh cob a rain sheet the other day, even though I normally wouldn't even think of rugging this time of year but I was sick of her being soaked through all the time.

we have been really lucky this summer so far, one or 2 days of rain and it's a bit on the windy side at the moment, but i haven't had chance to ride as it's school holidays so i supervise daughters riding instead, you can guarantee when they go back to school and i have time for myself it will pee down continuously!!

Ah the joys of British weather (presume you’re this side of the pond) I’ve just looked out of the window now and yep…. it started to rain, but we need it, the ground is rock hard.

I was out riding this morning at 7am in the pouring rain, although I got rather wet, I actually had a smashing ride, thing is if you spend too long looking at it, it gets you down, you just have to get out in itand crack on, you don’t notice it so much then.

We were saying the same this morning, it is like winter here too, rain, cold and just miserable. Mine really need rugging as well but trying to hold off as long as possible as they do have have a shelter.
We have such hard cold winters now and you spend all this time looking forward to some nicer weather which never seems to arrive or does for a day or so maybe and then we are back into winter :(

Not sure where you are based in the UK but down here in Bucks I personally am delighted to see some rain.

We had near as damn it a completely dry spell from the end of February through to late June. It would be nice though for it to stay pleasant from now until when the kids go back.

I think we're in a bubble - ground is also solid here and we need rain! Even the torrents last weekend somehow missed us, despite the skies.

We have had a fair bit of rain but i cant complain we have tons of grass, seems to be plenty of hay around and the ground isnt too hard.

Dare i say it i prefer dull weather for keeping horses.

im in the south west and we too had no rain between feb and june, and barely any since! i think i can count on 2 hands the times we have got wet since xmas! funny isnt it how the weather differs across the country!

Must be bad luck/worse up your way- I'm 1.5 months into Hopalong's hacking rehab and have managed 6 days/week hacking with only 2 or 3 of those in the wet (and not too horrible at that either).

I did decide that Sat evening (after spending the day in the dry at Scone!) was a no-go but brought her in to dry out and then rode out in the drizzle to get damp again on Sunday! ;) She was brought in to dry out and get rain sheet on this morning (first rugging since about Feb, boo!) so that as long as not monsoon-like this evening when I escape work we can hack out.

A good set of waterproofs and you're fine once you get going! :D

You can have our rain! We have had FAR too much of it! Riding out work this morning - 4 lots on the gallops in persistant heavy rain! Not fun at all! And it is to carry on this way for the next 2 days at least! We are getting flood warnings for Thursday night/ Friday morning!

I might harness the clouds to a truck and drag them down to the South! Any one want to help me?

Not had too much rain here either although it's poured most of today and at least this summer most of it has been t shirt weather where as last year was not!

we have had some gorgeous weather in wiltshire, I bathed my horse in hot sunshine today and it has been pretty nice for a while now, aside from a couple of showers (as far as I can recall). In London on Tuesday and Wednesday last week it was stifling, I was glad to get back to some (warm!) breeze in wiltshire. I quite like our county's weather, bitterly cold and plenty of snow last winter and beautiful warm sun since about April. :)

Gutted, we've had a lush summer down here in the South East. It's been 23 degrees today and perfect sunshine, i'm wearing shorts.
I'm not looking forward to the Winter though, I hate it although at least here it tends to be better then 'up north!'.

Its pouring here :( I have even had to put the heating on as its cold!! Im sceptical that the ground will hold up for Blair next week! On the plus side i havent had to fill up the water trough for weeks :D
Q

We had some rain last week but the ground soon dried out again and was like concrete. We are forecast some rain tomorrow and I really hope we get it as the grass just isn't growing and we are verging on having to feed hay in the fields for the first time during summer for about 4 years. Or more.

Amazing how the weather is so different across the country
