Anyone else's ponies STILL in muzzles?! My 2 are in them 24/7 with an hour off each day to have a good old scratch but winter is meant to be the one time they are free from them! My little pony is now a good weight (paranoid now with his freshly diagnosed cushings) but my cob...gees.. I swear he lives on fresh air with the tummy he has with a muzzle.

I'm in scotland and its unusually mild here also although our grass has now stopped growing more or less.
I'm not surprised people are using muzzles still with it being so mild.
Winter has to arrive soon surely?

my lot are in a field that had had a short rest, they live out but generally have a night or 2 in a week, they have been on new field for 20 days and their poops are still green!

the oldie is holding his weight well,
my 3yr id like more weight on,
my native has got fat and now starting to have a bit of restriction, and ive fully clipped her, ideally towards the end of december id like to see the native type showing ribs, allowing for the spring grass to build up without getting fat!

ive noticed where grass has been cut its popping back up green and juicy!

it is very mild for this time of year, but in all honesty i dont think we have has a mild/wet winter for a few years so must be due one!

I thought it was just me:) My mare is still in her muzzle although for 4 days last week I turned her out without as the grass is getting quite sparse now and she was only out for 4 hours.

My girls are out 24/7 and not fed. Despite this, and no rugs yet, my TBx 4 yr old managed to put on 15kg in a month!!!
Fat Coblet actually lost 8kg, but she could lose that every month til next spring, I'd still need a compass and a map to find her ribs!!
We have got LOADS of grass, temps still above 11 degrees and it's still growing!

Mine wears his all year round, unless I've ridden in morning and there's nothing in the field, and he's only out for a hour, otherwise its on all the time

Mine aren't muzzled but my hat-rack TB broodmare (still feeding foaly) looks awesome and her 4 month old foal is FAT. Long may it continue, goodness knows we could do with a break up here in NE Scotland!

Daughters pony still in muzzle over night has a bib and belly clip no rug and is STILL fat! And I have reduced the feed of the others because they were starting to put on weight its not normal :D

Yes mine is also still in a muzzle much to his annoyance... resorting to cow-chasing to let off steam.

On in day, off at night.

Pretty much what we're doing with our pony, except he has his muzzle on during the day and off at night and we put a rain sheet on him at night, perhaps we shouldn't?

Yep, two of mine are still out with muzzles and will stay like that for some time yet. Had to move them all off one paddock as they have eaten the grass really short now and it's starting to get churned up. Problem I have is the other paddock has way too much grass in and have had to put up the tape to section it off.
