Honestly! I cannot cope with tthe weather. Beasties feet are so wet b/c all the time I thought I was doing him good chucking him out all day everyday they are now totally saturated and c**p, Fields are mudbaths and the normally dry common is actually, a marsh bog!
So, am stopping complaining!
WHat can I do now , regarding helping my YO/boss out and researching drainage, types of foliage to plant that likes water? She keeps talking about turning a small 40x40 field into a woodchip/bark pen..
How is everyone else dealing with the wet? Or what is your yard like in the wet?
If you can offer suggestions please do, Id love to tell her useful ideas!

No wet here - no rain here.

My suggestion? Emigrate!

I just keep turfing my boy out each day with his wellies and mack and he comes back in at night caked in wet mud...nice!
For really good drainage you need the right soil and/or drainage pipes digging into the ground (messy and expensve) and ditches all round the fields. I have clay and the water just sits on top!

I hate it.
I could have TO if I wanted but it'd be a case of 'on my head be it'. I only TO for a few hours a day anyway, but ATM have decided it's not worth it. I'm having to walk daily and trash the local verges so he can graze (I pay my council tax so why not lol).
I'm not overly keen on turning out if it's really muddy anyway, but then we're lucky in that ponio is happy to stay in.
I dream of an indoor school.........

It was warmer down here.
I can deal with the cold, it's the rain I ran away from!
