Well I am currently trying to find a full loan home for a lady who has moved abroad and whose horse is a lovely chilled out all rounder have to say I had a right laugh today. A lady had contacted us who sounded absolutely perfect for him, only wanted to do light hacking although he is capable of doing much more, said she used to have show ponies for her kids and used to ride when she was younger but is a little rusty and just wants something to love and take care of and have an odd lesson every month or so. So after her asking lots of knowledgable questions she agreed to come down today. Well she came, I rode, her horsey friend rode and then she said she would get on but would only walk as it had been a while since she sat in the saddle, I said well I would prefer you to at least trot so I can see you are capable. She got on and couldn't hold her reins, sat on him like a sack of potatoes and then proceeded to trot not even attempting to rise just kick and bounce on his back. She jumped off and said I think I did pretty well considering I have only done a beach ride on a donkey when I was 12.. I was like :o .. I do wish I had pushed a bit more on her riding experience when on the phone to her but think I had just heard how nice and positive she sounded and with what she had said I just assumed she would at least be a basic rider capable of holding the reins and rising trot. So feeling pretty guilty on horsey but luckily she was on him for 5 mins tops and didn't do any harm, thinking back it did make me giggle watching her try to trot round. 100% for effort love - she was a v nice lady. I left it by telling her after some lessons he would be ok for her but not yet!

anyone else had any ....seriously moments?
