Hi all,

sorry Im not a regular poster - Im also no longer a 'potential owner'. Ive had my beloved horse 10years now.

She's coming up 20 with intermittent lameness in her right fore. X-rays have shown arthritic change in the coffin bone (problem 1) but also in the sesamoid bone. Theres a lot of info online regarding the coffin bone, but I'm struggling to find much on the sesamoid bone.

Has anyone been through a treatment for this? Am I right to assume she will likely have risk of suspensory ligament damage as the bone deteriorates? Also, what are the treatment options and prognosis?

Given she has multiple arthritic sites; and I'm already aware and treating hock spavin - Im starting to wonder if its time to simply manage the pain than go down the route of multiple steroid injections etc

Many thanks

A
