Ok ok, I just don't want to use the word ''dealer'' as I feel it portrays you don't actually care!

I have had two ponies this year, brought with no intention of selling but due to one being a bit of a kick along and the other not being the height I needed (brought unseen!) I have had to part with them after breaking and bringing on a little.

My priority is finding lovely homes, and I do have permanent horses. However, I really enjoy producing and matching (one at a time).

My question is that my yard is small and is only a private use. If I went into this properly, I am guessing I would need business use so that insurance could be obtained.

Can anyone on here advise me on what I need to do to set up properly? As I will also try to do Sales livery and schooling I would definately want everything to be safe and secure in regards to licensing etc.

Have a google or maybe ask someone like Horsemart what constitutes trade to them. There is a number you can sell per year without being deemed a dealer.. just might be worth checking that.

Thank you!

But in regard to it being totally legal I would want to declare everything I earn in the name of the business and also get things in place for Sales Livery.

Any ideas?
