Seven months old today...

... and quite possibly the sweetest, most angelic foal around. May's growth finally seems to have slowed down a little, and her mum's lovely, calm nature is rubbing off on her more and more every day, so we're keeping everything crossed for a not-so-supersized, sane little horse as the end result

She's also now officially outgrown her foal size three head collar, which is on the last hole, so will be needing something a little bigger come the January sales. We even managed to take a picture where she looks quite small, although the reality is that she's about 14hh already

So everybody keeps telling me! At least I've had plenty of time to get used to the idea. The first thing I thought when she was coming out was 'wow, she's huge', and the first thing the vet said when he saw her at 12 hours old was 'God, she's going to be big'. Not quite what he'd expected a then 14.3hh maiden mare to produce, according to him!

She's gorgeous! Love her fluffy ears!

They're one of my favourite things about her! That ear fluff is as soft as velvet

That's the view that greets me every day, and every day it makes me smile The pair of them would climb over the fence to come and meet you if they could - that's how eager they are for their daily carrot and cuddles!

They do have very lovely, soulful eyes, although catch Mary from her right side and she has a big streak of blue that makes her look slightly wild

Thank you! As sure as I can be. There are pictures of Mary in the field with the stallion pretty much eleven months to the day before Flower was born, and besides, Flower certainly has plenty of Welsh moments!
