Ok get your horses rugged up, the forcast for tonight and the early hours of tomorrow for the south of the UK from Lands End to the Wash is about 5 cm rain and up to 8 cm in localised areas accomopanied by gale force winds. The met is predicting flash flooding in some areas and widespread disruption is likely

Yep it's tipping it down here at the mo, just on the Plymouth edge of Dartmoor. Girls suitably rugged and tortoises tucked up for the night :D

Thinks it's going to get a lot worse in the next few hours.

We were camping in Polperro for a couple of days and this morning the site owner went round everyone and insisted on putting on storm straps for all tents and awnings as forecast is severe. Home now to North Dartmoor and all horses rugged up. Rain now - light but it is definitely coming in.

Yes I thought the same and had a debate with myself over what to do, however forecast for my postcode is for torrential rain, winds of 45mph and temp of 8 so I have put rainsheets on. Still hoping I've made the right decision

Yep, we all decided to bring our horses in tonight. It started raining hard here about 10 minutes ago. Meant to be nice again tomorrow.

We're in Lincolnshire, it's been glorious all day, really warm and very sunny but mine came in at 8pm. I wouldn't stand out all night in the rain and nor do my horses want to! ALso I think it's better for my fields, less mud is good for me and more grass for them!

Mine is in at night anyway.- he doesn't do going out for long!. Thought South East wasn't going to be too badly impacted but it is severly tipping it down here. Still we need more rain here, and its quite cozy with dogs tucked on snoring on either side and a big mug of tea in hand!

Some people have kept theirs in tonight but I decided to leave mine out with his waterproofs. Not sure if we've the right thing but he only goes out at night and I didn't want him to be kept in for a day and a half. Not so much worried about the rain but the wind.

We've had it raining in Bristol for about the last hour and a half. Not torrential just heavy and constant. Wind hasn't got up yet. I can cope with the rain it's the wind I hate with the horses.

I'm in East Anglia and we are supposed to get a blast of the wet and windy stuff too so I have brought my two in. They can go back out in the morning when hopefully the worst of it is over.

We left ours out and rugless, it is just so hot here, even with the wind and rain. I hope we made the right call.

i'm suffolk/norfolk border and its sweltering hot here at the min... no rain as yet. Mine are all out and rug-less, but do have access to a shelter. To be honest they live out all year so not particularly worried.

Oh dear - nearly an inch of rain already (21.6mm to be precise). We have a weather station right here (just two fields away) and the Met Office records Liscombe as having the highest rainfall in the Southwest this evening :(

Highest max 23.2 °C Nettlecombe Birds Hill
Lowest max 17.3 °C Plymouth
Lowest min 15.9 °C Plymouth
Highest rainfall 21.6 mm Liscombe
Sunniest 2.2 hours North Wyke

Rained heavily here in Berks from about 9pm to 5an this morning. Wind didn't sound too bad but it was still very warm at 16degrees.

The sky looks like there'll be more soon too.

All my gang out naked still, they'd cook in rugs. In fact the vast majority of the yard (about 40+ horses) are out naked - only a couple of hard-core showing people have lightweight rugs on theirs.
