My horse had a deep wound to his medial pastern and severed his collateral ligament at the same time. Any one experienced this? How did it work out for you?

Hi, slightly different but my old mare ruptured her medial collateral ligament in a field injury 8years ago. It wasn't caused by an external wound, but she did completely rupture it.
She was diagnosed via MRI scan and given only a 30% chance of coming field sound at that point.
She was under the care of Andy Bathe at Rossdales, who was amazing. She had a lot of boxrest, shockwave therapy and IRAP cell therapy. A very strict rehab regime and, luckily came back completely sound! We did have permission to jump again etc but I semi retired her after that as ligaments never do heal back to their previous strength.
Please do ask if you have any questions at all!

We had one as an inpatient after being hit by a car and snapped its collateral ligament in its fetlock. That had a cast on from foot to top of cannon and went home, unfortunately it kept coming back with the cast broken and we couldnt figure out why until we found out the owner was turning it out! We hospitalised it in a cast for at least a mth i think ( it was 10yrs ago ) so cant quite remember and it healed fine and continued its happy hacking.
