Are they strict? I know most people and shows say your groom should be correctly dressed, but it doesnt say the correct attire in the schedule or on website so for people who dont know what grooms should be wearing I can imagine they would just turn up in jeans?

My groom generally wears beige jods and long boots to county shows with me, and just a baseball cap and a joules top or something, but should she go all out and have riding hat and shirt and tie too??? Obviously I want to win

but dont want my groom to look like a tit!??!

They are probably stricter in SFAS qualifiers than in a normal county show. I am sure that some will turn up in jeans and t shirts, and this will not affect the final placings in the class. But the judges will be more impressed if your groom has a smart pair of trousers and jod boots, and a smart top of some sort wtih a hat. A baseball cap is OK, but a beagler would look smarter if there is one handy! Shirt and tie are very correct, but not many ladies wear this - more often the men would wear shirt and tie. If someone wears jods and long boots, it looks as though they have just left the ring in another class, rather than specificalyl coming in to groom, but this is certainly better than a pair of jeans.

Hope this helps! Which SFAS are you going to?
