I thought I'd put this here because it's competition related more than a general enquiry.
I'm going to treat myself to new show boots and am leaning towards SGs. Thoughts? Any other options I may not have thought of? I like the look of the SGs best but don't know too many people who actually have them. Anyone know how their zips stand up? (Vogels and Der Daus are the comparable North American boots - very few places retail SGs.) Also can anyone recommend a good place to get fitted for boots near South London?
Also, I see field boots (with laces) are making inroads here - this seems to be a relatively new trend. Are they acceptable here for lower level/occasional dressage as well as jumping? Less so than jumping style dress boots? (In North America proper dressage boots are obviously the choice for serious competitors but jumping boots are fine for the first couple of levels.) If I have to get 2 pairs I'll get good jumping boots and so so dress boots but I'd rather not if it's not necessary.
Any fashion mavens out there want to weigh in?
