I'm looking for a Bridle with a Shaped/Wavy head piece for one of my horses.....since he had lami three years ago he developed eczema in his ears from the stress of box rest. Since then he doesn't like the bridle touching his ears, wind in his ears etc he is ridden in ear covers which works. stops him head shaking every now and again (which he never used to do before the eczema) but I think a shaped/wavy head piece would be a nice Christmas pressy for him......along with his new easy boot trails :D

any recommendations?

I'd recommend an IR - either from Jefferies or made up to measure by the creators at Stroud Saddlery. Based on extensive research and can be tweaked to suit your horses specific needs. You can just get the head piece too if you don't want to shell out on a whole new bridle. Really are super!

Go to English Bridles, was the nicest Bridle I ever bought! Amazingly soft and flexible leather! Extreamly hard wearing too, my boy likes to rub his head on the stable door frame, and this hasn't made a mark on it! It's so beautifully made too! Continuously complemented, I can't say enough good things really! Didn't think I'd ever find a bridle this nice! Didn't think anyone would be able to make bridles like this! It's just so soft, would be great around his ears :)
They do a comfort range, and sell bridle parts too, if you just want the shaped head peice!
Pefere mine to my Jeffries and the Sabre he had! Would hesitate to recommend!

I bought a shires one quite cheaply with a shaped padded headpiece and it's actually really nice - far better than I expected. I think it could be a Shire's Avignon or something similar.

I really recommend english bridles, i have a nice one with a shaped padded head peice and its really supple, think it was around £90 :)

I bought an English Bridles Comfort Bridle from 'Your Horse Live' this year and it's gorgeous, really soft and well-made! Very good value for money too, especially as mine was half price:)
