Hi,
How much would you expect to pay for a share horse in Berkshire/ Oxfordshire areas

- Nice horse established on flat and happy to jump up to a metre' ish
- Up to 2 days a week, including a weekend day, maybe more in summer months
- No yard duties as on full livery
- Yard has lovely arena, good facilities & excellent hacking
- Relaxed, friendly and supportive yard
- Possibility to compete a little in the future

I know these counties are expensive as is livery but I have no idea what to expect

I would say £15-25 per day. I pay £15 per day in Hertfordshire for a much less established horse and if I do a weekend day it’s DIY.

When I was sharing my girl was half livery and half shoes but that was for riding half the week so 3 days each and a rest day for mare

2/6 of the monthly livery cost. For two days riding of a well schooled horse at a yard with good facilities and no chores.

Completely depends on what the owner is looking for. Do they need help to cover costs, or just don't have the time?
I've had sharers that haven't paid as I just needed help. Now, I also need a little bit of financial support so ask for a small contribution (£60 a month for two days, plus chores)

For that area, I would expect livery to be somewhere around the £600-800 mark, so would be expecting to pay two days a week worth of that.

I don't do anything apart from ride and tack up and pay considerably more than anyone here has suggested but the horse is safe and well schooled, has good tack and excellent manners. I also get some training from the owner who is qualified. I've had people ride out with me and never asked for help or a contribution but they were helping me keep the horse exercised. I'd certainly expect to pay at least £50 pw, I went for a schoolmaster lesson at a well known place and paid £80 for a lesson on a horse that was lame with a trainer who was completely disinterested so I feel I get value for money.

I pay ca £50 a ride. And have done for years on 2 different shares. Costs usually reflect local rs prices. My charge has not gone up but that could be because I went on paying all through lock down. Or because I hack solo and I pay even for weeks I cant ride
