You may remember my post about getting a friend for my bunny from the local sanctuary. Well after being labelled as grumpy and looking rather sad at the animal home, Dolly-May has turned into the most inquisitive, funny, loving, not so little lady, she adores my husband and will sit on his lap for ages. She also has a new zest for life and keeps herself very well groomed.
Well it's true to say the course of true love does not always run smoothly and I was concerned that they would never accept each other, lots of hacking and growling and Brian ended up with a small lump out of his nose and a knick right through his ear. Just as I was wondering how we could split up the bungalow and garden for the warring parties, hubby had the idea of getting them a harness each, so we could have more control when they went for each other - Brian had a go at him when squirted with the hosepipe!
Well the short version is it worked really quickly, Dolly-May became very submissive & Brian realised he couldn't get to her, within the space of one afternoon we felt comfortable to leave them alone and they've been inseparable ever since, grooming each other and even sharing carrot tops:
