I had looked for a sharer for my horse but not found anyone suitable so gave up. I now have a girl from my yard, who is perfect who rides for me after school and at weekends (or whenever I can't get there). She hacks him out, works on the flat and does occassional jumps with him (but only jumping in her lessons). She is calm and exactly what I would have liked to find from a paying sharer.

However my YO has just called me saying there is a new lady at the yard who is interested in sharing. I am going to watch her ride in her lesson out of curiosity at the weekend. But am not sure what to do?? Do I risk taking on a sharer and her not being as good as the person I have riding him for free. Is it basically worth taking this risk or should I stay how I am/???? Am not desperate for the money, although it would help. I somehow feel I am more in control of the situation with the girl I have now and may loose that once someone starts paying. Also really don't want to let this girl down after she has helped me out so much.

If it's not about the money - then don't get a sharer and stick with the arrangement you have with the 'girl'.

Presumably the new lady at the yard already has a horse, and the girl doesn't......??

Stay with the girl!

If the money is not important and you are comfortable with her then stick with it. If she's likely to go travelling/college/uni etc then perhaps take the new persons details, but don't get rid of a perfect sharer!

Good idea, may take her details in the case the girl decides to do any of the above. I do feel I would hate to loose this girl, even if she can't contribute she is perfect in every other way.
