My sharer is supposed to be looking after Daisy and riding her for me when we go away on holiday next week. I got a text last night saying that she wouldn't be able to do it because of family problems but I got to the yard this morning to find her riding someone else's horse. I introduced her to this person who was looking for someone to exercise their horse not for one moment thinking she would stop riding Daisy. I know that she does have family problems but this seems a bit of an excuse if she still can find time to ride the other horse. I texted her to say that she needs to be straight with me because she won't answer her phone to me.

I feel like I will have to look for someone else because she keeps backing out at the last minute so I don't feel I can rely on her anymore. I don't want to advertise for a sharer because she's my baby and it would need to be someone I could trust but I do need one. If anyone knows of someone experienced and reliable please pm me. I'd rather go on personal recommendation than someone unknown from an advert.

I'm looking for a share if your based anywhere near Manchester

You do say that she was riding this morning whereas you are going on holiday NEXT week ??? Could it be possible that she could have done this week but not next ??? You don't say what the family issues are.

That aside, it doesn't sound as if she is too keen any more. I would phone her and ask her outright.

I advertised on horsemart and have found a lovely sharer recently for my boy.

Good Luck

Unfortunately I think it is just luck of the draw. A friend of mine and I advertised within the riding club at the same time, me for a sharer for a semi retired 16 year old WB chestnut mare who is not a novice ride, her for someone for her stunning and very capable 8 year old connie x tb, does bsja, great dressage test, opp to compete, etc. Was amazed when I actually got the perfect person and they have had no luck at all!
Are you in a RC/PC? I reckon that is a fairly good place to start looking? You are right about adverts, you get all sorts answering!!

IMO good ones are like rocking horse sh1t, but if you get a good one there a god send, as for rest they can go***********
But i do see how committed folk are before i trust them which does take time and you know pretty quickly........ I just don't stand for any sh1t as they are my horses and i'll be the one holding the can if it goes wrong
Current sharer is working out well BUT it's taken me nearly a year to find replacement to a very good sharer

Hope you find someone. If I were in your area, I'd be there but alas I'm not.

Don't knock all sharers - there are some of us who would happily help out and get their hands throughly stuck in but just can't find anything.

I gave up old share pony, not because of him but because of the owners. I'm not digging at anyone, but dont tar all of us with the same brush
