Sharing Lorry

may have a opening to buy into share of lorry?
Any useful tips about your experieces? What sort of costing am i looking at from tax down to servicing???
 
Well its very complicated as these things normally are!

We were originally going to purchase a lorry between us (pay half each) but her Mother got involved and offered to buy 1/2 the lorry with her, so my money wasn't needed.
It was agreed that I could use it when ever I wanted, and it was also agreed that if it was written in the diary and the person had paid their entry they had priority of use for it that day.

So I paid 1/2 the tax and insurance for the year, and we agreed that any other costs were to be shared between the 3 of us. Also I had to pay 1/2 of the breakdown cover.
The lorry cost nearly £900 to get through the MOT and I had to give them my share (£300)
At this point I was using the lorry once or twice a week and didn't mind paying.

Then we both decided to move to different yards, and obviously they took the lorry but promised I could still use it, they also gave me back the £300.

I have used the lorry once since then, and everytime I have asked to use it since then they have been using it. Also it's a pain going up there to get it every time too.

Would never share a lorry again and am currently looking for one that's all mine!

i think you've hit nail on head about sharing.......... but this is why i want half plus written contract cos i know i'll used lorry more that other person...........
i think i need long chat with her to sort stuff out really

both me and a friend were going to buy a brand new 3.5 ton lorry each (she already had one but wanted to upgrade) so we decided instead to buy half each which is great for me as i use it everyweekend - my friend always does the same competitions (dressage) as my groom which works out great !! we paid half each and half of all the bills !!!

never have a disagreement over who uses it and give each other plenty of notice of what we are doing - also said if there was championships etc and shows would come over lessons etc xx

i own the yard to so lorry would stay at mine it also is the only one to be locked away in a secure barn with alarms !! i guess but it would be her desision to move - im sure we would work it out xx I dont think she will be moving though !!
