Today I saw a view I didn't think I'd see, and did something I thought would never happen. I had a plod around the block on the bay "rescue" boy! He been with me for two years. He's lost a lot of weight, had his awful feet regularly trimmed and balanced (he was diagnosed with navicular changes from what limited history I could see, with no treatment following. Last vet record entry over a year before I had him). Lots of in hand walking, having a friend to mooch about the field with, physio and pole work (some kind of trauma had happened over withers/back, muscular atrophy in odd places etc). Today I thought I'd tack him up and let him say when it got too much (never used to be able to show him a saddle, let alone get one on him!) we got tacked up, I got on, and he was off! A happy, keen bean! He didn't put a hoof wrong, and had perky ears and body language the whole of the short way. I aim to try again next week, and have a word with the farrier about the way forward with his fronts, and the vet with any medication long term. But for now, here's a picture of the view between some perky ears!
