I did not see him out today - but I think the flash / cheltenham gag combo worked quite well last weekend when I saw him. Hope he will be on soon to give the full report :D

Morning all
Very flattered to be thought of, thanks:cool:

I was out with the Chid and Lec opening meet at Petworth park yesterday.
Sorry AH didn't see you either as i was with the non jumping field.

About 110 mounted meant some interesting and tight riding thankfully i had some more control and i tried yet another bit, A nelson Gag - full cheek cheltenham gag. and also a Grackle nose band to stop him crossing his jaw.

1st hour was like sitting on a joggy washing machine and he was cantering rather than trotting a lot of the time but he was easier to control than fight for a trot all the time.

i ran up front of the non jumping field which also worked and a one point i did canter up to the Hunt Sec who was leading the field to apologise if i overtook - although not needed in the end.

He calmed down and stopped fighting and rushing after about an hour and we had a fabulous day without any worries about brakes and control. Hooorahhhhhh :p:D:D:D:D

i had great fun and boy oh boy did he too.

We even jumped a ditch on the way home, although a bad landing by me (still stayed on) means i now have a bruised ahhhhhmmmmmmmmm :eek::eek:;)

This is us at the beginning of the day (much muddier later)

I bet you'll erm... fly? through the dressage! :D

That's what worries me, and now to get him to work softly in the mouth for dressage.
He has gone rather hard in the mouth since we've been hunting... lots of lunging and soft long and low work for next couple of weeks then.

Won't be out hunting for a month now as have too much on :(

I think I've got some of you Sharky as well - my daughter was following you up the hill before you all went back down to the hedges/drinks - you look totally in control!

I have to say, he looks like a horse about to do some mischief :D

He is VERY!!!!! excited at this point and has tucked himself up as well.

He's never nasty or mean, just errrrrr "forward going" on the field.

BTW this is about and hour and half after he had a calmer so you get the idea ;)
I do love him though :p

This is the 2 group off.. i'm in there somewhere (Masters and hounds have gone ahead)
