Hi Guys,

First time user!

i have been feeding my TB Spillers Cool Mix and Hifi Orig for as long as i can remmeber however i think its time i have a look at his feed as his not as eager for dinner as he once was so i nice change will do him good and is needed.

he is a typical TB, quite sharp under saddle and in hand and requires a carming feed he is in low work and has good grass and hay.

Carm and Condition is a NONO as is sends him Loopyloo!!

Any suggestions will be welcomed!!

thanks

Does he hold his weight?

If so, perhaps just a very basic feed to hold a balancer. Chaff plus grass pellets or beet is unlikely to be heating.

He does but only with his two meals a day, the only thing is i have always had natives a a TB is a foregn lanugauage so just kep him on the above out of routine.

He does have speedi beat trhough the winter just as an extra :)
Thanks

I have found that horses don't care that they get the same thing to eat every day for their whole lives. The only ones I have had who have gone off eating food that they have been happily eating for months or years have turned out to have something wrong with them. Or it's just a couple of weeks at this time of year, when I've had a lot of horses go picky for a week or two, and one of mine is currently.

I would leave him on what he's on, and if he doesn't recover his appetite by April I would consider ulcers as a likely candidate, followed by less likely things like liver, on your vet's advice.
