Shavings on rubber matting - what do you use and find is best??

I used shavings for years, swapped to flax about a year ago but didn't really like it. I'm now using Aubiose ... love it, very absorbent, makes a nice solid bed which doesn't move around (unlike the flax) and best of all, is very easy to muck out. Rots down quickly as well. Not that cheap, but is actually more economical than either shavings or flax.

Equisorb is really good. But I find Megasorb is the most absorbent.

If I had a horse who wasnt particularly that wet then i'd choose Equisorb though.

I make a base out of wood pellets (10 bags to start but only top it up every other week) and put a bale of shavings on top, so the wood pellets trap all the wet and keep it in one place.i just remove the small wet patches in the morning.
and in the day i bank the shavings around the edges, leaving just the wood pellet base.keeps it lovely and clean and fresh.

I just use hunters shavings. Have tried others including bedmax and aubiose. With bedmax i didnt like it as it is quite dark and looks a bit dirty, i like a very very clean bed, in fact i am obsessive about it!! And with Aubiose it is good but doesnt go very far as it is quite flat and doesnt look as nice as a shavings bed. Just realised all my reasons are cosmetic........doh!!!!!

I used to use Hunters, now I just go with my suppliers cheapest, at £7.00 per bale, and it is finer flakes and absorbes really well, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. I have a deep bed on rubber matting, and only require one new bale every 2weeks, so pretty economical.
