Hi all, I have a 30yo Cushings mare with COPD who has a shavings bed. Any views as to whether it'd be OK to switch her to straw? Thanks x

I actually find my straw much less dusty than my friends shavings. Her rugs always have a layer of dust on them. Probably best to ask your vet.

I found rapeseed bedding worked better than straw for my copd one. I found the straw seemed to hold more dust and urine smell than the rapeseed

I agree. Never had any dust from straw. I popped a shavings in to a friend’s horse and had to run out the stable as the air was thick with dust.
