Having recently moved my mare and put her on shavings I have to say that I don't want to go back to straw!
My problem now is that she drags her bed everywhere! and more or less trashes it walking the wee everywhere and mixing it all in, I tried deep littering but she kept churning it up so it didn't work very well and I'm taking all wee and poo out everyday (but it still never looks clean and fluffy
) and going through a fair amount of shavings, at the moment I'm using either sundown gold, or occasionally sundown red.
So I've been looking at alternatives and some people of my yard use laysoft shavings an really rate them, but I've been looking at shavings and they sound fairly good (But I'm thinking those reviews might be from people that have clean horses
).
The only pellets I know that I could easily are the 5 star bedding.
So what are your experiences or opinions on the shaving v pellets?
thanks
