Anybody having difficulty getting hold of them. YO orders 40 bales a month, but this months delivery arrived and it was just 10 bales, stockist is struggling.......Anybody else having this problem........

When I went to Countrywide last week they only had 4 bales left and weren't expecting a new delivery for a couple of days at least - got plenty of everything else, just not shavings. He said there was a nationwide shortage?

My delivery is due in any day.
I havn't had any problems with supply so far.
Mine are delivered from Lancashire, so maybe it's about which area of the county your in.

I posted of this a fortnight ago and was told I was scare mongering!!
Our merchant has just had a big delivery in but he doesn't expect any more for quite a while; he thought he was lucky to get those and he has tried to source from all over, Canada and the States included. Reasons they are being told is international shortage of building going on and China is buying up all supplies of wood. Our fencing firm has been struggling to get materials in parts and this is the reason given by our suppliers too; before Christmas you couldn't get fencing panels, trellis for love nor money it was all going to China. We heard of someone wanting to repair their fence go 200 miles to fetch some panels and he paid 4 times the normal price, he was desperate!

My normal suppliers haven't had any since November, and don't know when they will be able to supply our shop again. We have sourced from another company, but we find that we sell more miscanthus than shavings anyway.

It was getting so bad we changed bedding alltogether - the price is getting stupid as well - £8 a bag !!
we now use Ecobed - cardboard its fantastic !!

wow... that makes my £4.90 a bale shavings amazing... have a local timber shop which i buy all mine from, there specially produced for horses (dust extracted etc) its great!
