But of a presice question but how many kg of shavings would you put down onto a concrete floor and onto rubber matting. I'm talking about the average 12' stable.
Please help

if decent mats are down i would put a bale in a stable that size, but i cant say i ever weight the shavings as i put them down.

straight onto the concrete i would put 4-6 bales in, 4 hunters and probably 6 of any other type when laying a new bed

Ok. But I'm talking bout a 20kg bale. And I doubt anyone puts down that much a day

You didn't ask per day!

Answer is you don't top up every day. I have rubber matting and put down a new bale at the weekend per stable (Hunters) If they are in more than 11 hours over night, I may top up with a half bale mid-week but not usually necessary as bring down from banks to cover floor.

If on concrete, I would probably go through 2 bales a week as I like soft beds adding half a bale every couple of days.

We clean out all the poo and all the wet stuff, daily with the usual12 h turnout, or twice a day if stabled 24 h.
We have rubber mats on concrete and we use approx. a 25 kg bale of shavings per month.

We use the shavings only for peeing in the middle (roughly a circle of 4 ft diameter) and use straw, too. Straw is as well about one small bale per month.
