I've got a problem with my 4yr old.

She's permanently on the right rein, even when you're going left

The problem has been caused by me I think.... in that since she was 2yrs old I have ridden my other mare and led this one - on my left.

I think where she's tried to get in front all the time, I've pulled her back round my left knee constantly, so have in fact 'trained her' to turn to the right.

Now she's broken in, the problem is really highlighted. I never noticed when I was lungeing and long reining her to back her.

When I ride her on the left rein, she completely ignores my left rein. I can tug with all my might, and little happens. And she majorly falls into the left, with her head facing right, as we 'motorbike' in ever decreasing circles!

Eventually after little tugs she was suddenly realises I'm there and will bend her neck to the left, but her body is still falling in to the left.

She's in a jointed fulmer snaffle.

When I lunge her, even with just one side rein on the left side, she ignores it and faces right.

Help, what can I do to sort this out?

Lots of work to the left

.

Lots of stretches when you're on the ground.

Ask for ned's nose to turn round and touch the boot of your toe.

Serpentines.

Get teeth, neck, back and saddle checked

Maybe get a physio out to loosen her up on that side and get them to give you lots of exercises to work on o get her bending correctly.
