My daughter is getting worse.
It started at the riding club dressage to music champs at Addington. She forgot her own Dressage to music plan. I know it is difficult because she is used to doing it in a 20 x60 but she went completely blank and missed 2 compulsory movement and still came 4th.
Then she forgot one of her gaiters at her next dressage comp [her boots have been sent back to manufacture and they have agreed to replace them but they don't have any at the moment] She had to ride in joddy boots and breeches.
Two days later we were eventing and she forgot his nosenet letter.
Next day it was back to dressage and at a venue we have been to many times. She got lost on the way there and in the end had to ask another horsebox driver going in the opposite direction to wait while we turned round and followed.
TODAY we went to Solihull to jump and she forgot her bit.
That girl would definately forget her head. A nice lady lent us one.
This has been the last two weeks .At Gatcombe she looked like a tramp because she washed his legs then put on dirty travelling boots, he came out of the box filthy. She was in the military section and had washed her police bomber jacket with a diposable nappy and you can imagine the mess.
I will have to take charge of her but I work 3-11 pm each day so I don't pack the box.
Hope this makes you smile, she makes me laugh.not.BLESS

Bless sounds like me most of the time!! There just isnt enough hours in the day i think. . . well thats my excuse!!

Oh dear perhaps she needs a week or two off competing so she can get organised again?
Sounds like she works and has children as well so I can imagine it being rather hard to get everything organised.

Weezy, please don't say that. Think it is just not enough hours in the day.Now she has gone off teaching, why? She works hard enough at work but is not good at saying NO.
Still horse jumped nicely in strange bit

Ws just jesting LOL! I am still ridiculously forgetful since having the boys - it is infuriating! I went to Summerhouse earlier in the year with the wrong bridle and ended up having to ride in a 6inch bit and no noseband

Blimey then I take my hat off to her for even finding the time to get out and ride yet alone compete. Also remind her hse's veryl uck to have a Mum like you to help.
Wish I had one, are you avliable for hire at all?

Agh, wish I lived nearer, would love to Mummy you.
She knows how luck she is but sometimes forgets I am getting older. I love it all really, have to go to work now, overtime ,usually do 6 on 2 off. This week 7 on 1 off as I drive a bus which transports disabled to bingo, visits, church etc. and tonight they are going to Walsall lights so every driver needed in.
Tomorrow off.LOVELY got fencing to do.

I forget nothing! It comes from being a lift scrounging hobo from age 12, when mum and sister were going showing and I was going jumping, I got very self sufficient! I still dont like people 'helping' me at shows! I used to get dropped off to another yard of a friend or relly to take me on to where ever I needed to go.
It does sound like she needs a break though!

I was going to say that.

I'm sure I may of talked her into the last one by talking about my kids and when they were babies for 2 days when we went on that Instructors course, cus I'm sure she got Preg soon after.

That reminds me of someone, at a recent event CCJ had to be removed from my reach before I strangled her after I discovered not only had she removed and forgotten the essential stallion tags, but also done the same to the TWO pairs of spares I had put in the box incase this ever happened.
Then we have the day she forgot all the girths, one show we even arrived minus bridles.. (I turned round in disgust and came home..)
She makes endless lists for each event so she does try to be organised, but my response now is to pack almost everything you could imagine she could leave at home..we have spare jods, bridle, girths, martingale, leathers irons, numnahs, boots, bandages, stallion tags (hidden!!)
number bib, gloves, XC colours, stock, hairnets etc,
If you ever get stuck at an event come and see me, the day we had to borrow a girth from terry Boon was so humiliating I vowed in future to be the one lending things...

Oh and the dirty travelling boots sounds familiar, how many sets do we have (at least eight I reckon) yet unless I rescue them they are deemed not that bad and re-used..
I must admit she is getting better at packing and most times doesn't forget anything..
That reminds me, we must return his passport to the box tomorrow, last week I prayed they wouldn't ask to see it as he had been checked by the vet to make sure it was up to date...it went in the filing cabinet instead of back in the box..
Thanks for reminding me....

Scared to leave ours in the horsebox as our stables are a mile from home and box is there and you never know and they could be a pain to replace. Can't leave anything there they stole the diesel the other day and now we only put small amounts in.Yes we have forgot girths and saddle cloths and I've had to buy new but she has never been this bad

A friend of mine was working as a groom for a showjumper in the netherlands and ... forgot the horse!!!!In her defense she had put two on and then went to put something else on the lorry and thought the 'jockey had put the other horse on and he thought she had put the horse on!! they did not discover the mistake until they got to the show!!!!
I dont forget stuff... just the time!!! time keeping is my worst fault but usually because i'm busy making sure i've done everything!!!
I however do not have the added strain of children [just a demanding jack russel!!] and another job other than my yard.So i think between you after the summer you guys have had then i think you've done pretty darn well, both of you!!!
