My 12 year old gelding (obvs!) has had sheath problems on and off for past 2 1/2 years (since I have had him, came from dealer so dont know his history), when I say problems I mean it swells up not huge but enough for him to be uncomfy never lame, but he has blood in his sheath, which has got worse over time and how its quite thick dark purpley gunk.
Vets have done urine samples before and after work both clear, chopped bit off his manhood(biospy) which was sent to liverpool- came back clear. We have tried various antibiotics, steriod creams and tried feeding him manuka honey(Its meant to fix everything!) but NOTHING has worked. He can go weeks and it doesnt flair up and then bam its very angry looking and sore and bloodly, changed bedding/food/field etc hasnt made any different vets are stumped they think its maybe bladder stones but he doesnt show any other signs and is never coliclky.
Any ideas would be gratefully recieved
