As above really, George and I are going to a show on Sunday (WH and Riding Club Horse) and he is currently shedding his coat like no tomorrow (he wasn’t clipped over the winter). I have been getting as much out with a shedding blade as I can and giving him a thorough grooming every night, but there is still so much hair coming out! Have any of you got any tips for getting it out quicker, I am just worried that the judge will get choked in a cloud of George’s hair!

Thanks

Turn him out without a rug on, preferably after working him so he's a bit sweaty and keen to roll, then bath (scrub well!) and scrape thoroughly with a sweat scraper.
Then hope the day of the show isn't too warm so he's not so keen to shed hair all over the judge!

Groom like mad with a shedding blade, bath and then put lots of coat conditioner spray on and then rug and pray!

This is why I am an evil mum and mine are full clipped out at the end of January - I then have nice show coats for now and no moulting.

Turning mine out without a rug has helped loads and always use a shedding blade, I really hate the job as I always come home covered in grey hairs, but can't wait for it all to be out!

clip it all off!!
ive just got back from uni and with my pony who is clipped religiously and been met with my mums horse who she hasnt got round to clipping all winter for some unknown reason...i couldnt cope with all the hair so i shaved him pronto!!job done no more moulting!

Horses grow and shed their coat in relation to the hours of daylight so unfortunately unless you clip him it's unlikely any amount of gadgets and elbow grease will get all of his coat off in a few days!
