Does anyone know of a proven link? I can't find anything on Google. However I swear when the farmer puts the sheep on the horses get a touch of thrush. It's happened with many horses now over many years and I can't believe it's just coincidence. There are usually at least a couple lame with foot rot at any one time. Could it be the same bacteria?

yes, it can be caused by the same microorganisms as far as I know. if you have sheep on the property and thrush and you've not already, get some terramycin spray from the vet and use that-scrub with iodine, then spray. Its way more effective than any of the topical stuff you can buy IME.

I think there must be a link, we have horses and a few sheep permanently together and we don't have a regular thrush problem. But then, we don't have a regular foot-rot problem either!
