I use a prolite pad with my pony atm... with 2 inserty things; her back is dropping (recommended by a saddler until we can get another saddle)

Would a skeepskin half pad do the same thing?
I would like to have one for competing with as I think they look smarter..
Any advice would be fab.

eta... she has high withers

I use a Prolite for every day which allows his muscle to build up underneath it and then I use a Rambo Sheepskin halfpad at shows, A) cos it looks smarter and B) one day without his Prolite on won't hurt him. The sheepskin one won't allow for muscle growth and take care of pressure points in the same way as the Prolite, but as I said, one day won't hurt ;)

I would stick with the prolite pad. When you do get a well fitting saddle you wont be able to use the sheepskin half pad anyway as it will alter the fit of the saddle. So id say save your money! Agreed they do look smart but its my pet hate seeing people with numnah, half pad and saddle - saddle no longer fits as it should.
You can buy numnahs with just a "trim" on them so it looks like you have a half pad underneath but without all the bulk.

my saddler is very good, and she came out 6 months ago and said we will need a new saddle the next time she comes out, which will be soon as she has done as much reflocking as she can to get the saddle to fit properly. However i still need the prolite pad

I have 2 high wither nuumed numnahs
I have a high wither nuumed dressage saddlecloth
a polypad
various plain saddlecloths
and a prolite...

We have invested a lot of money into her saddle; which originally was made for her

I guess I will wait and see what she says next time

Im hoping to get a saddle made for her, well shes a funny size so will have to have one

:)
