I have a Symonds Fylde Ray Working Hunter Saddle in a Wide for a 14hh Highland - it needs adjusting and (probably) re-flocking but it is foam panelled. I am trying to decide it I should get it fitted with a sheepskin correction pad underneath?
It fitted my mare better in the springtime, before she was back in work: now it is tipping forward.
The Ray is the best shaped saddle I’ve tried for my very flat-backed 14hh Highland. I don’t like sheepskin pads on hairy ponies as they are a nightmare to keep clean. But if they are more comfortable for my mare…??
