Hi All,

I think I probably know the answer to this but as my horse's coat is growing out of the clip he had late last year my rubber reins tend to rub his coat off!

I use sheepskin noseband covers on either rein now and the problem doesn't happen, so a quick question.

Can you use sheepskin covers on reins at BE? I'm thinking maybe not because I can't recall ever seeing anybody in the ring with them, maybe just for the warming up?

Looking at the rules, sheepskin noise bands are allowed for sj and Xc. So I would assume that you can say the same for them on your reins. Only says about sheepskin cheek pieces not being allowed. You would be best to ask on the day

Would it be a safety issue? I am thinking if there is a sticky moment and you grabbed the rein where the sheepskin was and it came undone or slipped up the rein.

I have sheepskin on my reins through the winter for the same reason. I wouldn't jump in them though, especially xc. I have them off for completions with no ill effects on the coat
