Are there any rules regarding the use of sheepskin or other types of saddle pads in BD, I mean the ones that fit between the numnah and the saddle?

Yep, you are allowedto use them, no restriction I believe

Well I think I have seen people use them but I'm not entirely sure, didn't want to get disqualified or anything!

nearly everyone round my way uses a sheepskin pad over their numnah to compete.

I did when i was using bloss's saddle on Archie as it was too big for him so it padded it out. I dont anymore tho as my saddle is fitted correctly now.

Thanks PG perhaps I need to open my eyes and look at everyone else next time I'm out.

I've never needed to use a pad before but due to lack of dressage saddle at present I've resorted to riding in my old show saddle which is too wide for Patrick so thought if I stuck a pad on it should be ok.

Whats bartyl - I've not heard of that? I was looking at Griffen Nuumed and also the Mark Todd back pad but wasn't sure whether that would slip.

Thanks PG that sounds ideal, don't want to spend huge amounts on it as my dressage saddle is on order.

I have a Shires one and I love it, was great value and is so easy to clean

I used it throughout the hunting season and it survived, even after being plastered in mud at times!

My Bartyl one is great well worth the £57. Its definately the thickest one out there I've had it for two maybe three years now and it still looks like new.
