Very sadly, we made the decision to let Rosie go earlier this afternoon. Paul told me that the xrays showed conclusively that it was a bone cancer affecting her leg so we decided together it would be kinder not to wake her up from the GA she was already asleep from. I feel strangely calm, I have been expecting this day for the last 2 years tbh and every extra day was a real bonus. She was the most fantastic character, if she had been a person she would have been a real tomboy. She kept her spirit and feistiness to the end and fearing the worst I spoilt her rotten yesterday, sausages and custard for her last meal (not together, served as 2 courses)! I am collecting her at the end of surgery to bring her home to be buried next to Sophie and Felix under the sycamore tree in the garden. She is at peace now and will never be forgotten. Thank you all for your good wishes and thoughts, it does help to share with others who understand the tug our furry friends have on your heart x
