Well, picked her up at about 1. She's going back in to see John our vet tomorrow just to check her over (and have her morphine patch changed).

She's already "toe touching" and is sort of weight bearing when stood still.

Nearly a dodgy moment when she tried to leap into the boot of my OHs discovery!!

But she's doing great. Now fast asleep (and snoring like a train) on our sofa (lifted her up!!). She obviously didn't sleep well last night!!!!

So pleased. Thank you all so much for the support, I don't have many friends because I moved away from home and I honestly don't know what I would have done without all your support and kind words.

Aw sleepy little Chloe dog! Bless, she looks as pleased to be home as you must be :)

All sounds positive so far - here's to a speedy recovery! (Bet she'll be hooning around by Christmas!) :D
 
So glad she's home it's always strange when they aren't around. She's absolutely lovely and looks very contented to be back where she belongs.

Keep us updated on her progress.

Aw bless her! Our lab had one of those inflatable collars when she had an op! They are so funny! And her poor naked leg!

Now just for the recovery and then you can have lots more fun with her!
 
The inflatabe collar is absolutely crap, she can reach her ENTIRE leg but it keeps her from trying when she's sat with us. Will be putting her proper one on for night times and times shes alone as she can eat ALL of it - including her morphine patch!
 
Course not horsecrazy! She was diagnosed with hip dysplasia (where the "socket" doesnt cover the "ball" properly in the hip joint, making movement painful and eventually causing arthritus). One hip was "severe" and already had arthritic changes in it (basically, very small fractures in the bones) so she needed surgery.

We chose the "femoral head and neck excision" option, where they basically chop off the "ball" from the joint. There is an option of full hip replacement but its £6000 and we couldnt afford it.

Thanks for all your kind words. Little *****er just stood up to jump off the sofa - and I stubbed my toe REALLY HARD jumping up to catch her! =[ Ouch! At least its only a week of no real walking!!!!
 
Good luck trying to keep her on/off the sofa!
B was one day away from stitches out on his sensitive bits when Col and family came to visit and he decided to clear the dog gate from a standstill to say hi...he's getting put in a crate next time...not that I ever want him to have surgery again!

Awwww hope your foot ok, like you said only a week so not that bad. Keep us updated xxx
 
Aw bless her, glad she's on the mend:)

When Henry had his op and had to stay off the sofa, I ended up bringing his bed into the living room and putting it by my feet so he could still snuggle up close without straining himself!
 
Bless! She looks really comfy! Jake was balancing on the knee he'd had replaced on the same day it was done (the chopped off and levelled operation!). Dogs are amazing the way they cope. Here's to a speedy recovery.:)
 
She's driving me mad today. She HATES her cone, but her inflatable collar doesnt work. She's already ripped her bandage off twice! She's now shut in her pen in the dining room whining at me, but what can I do? She's a nightmare with bandages.

Been back for our 3 day after-op check, vet totally amazed at how good she's being. He can't believe she's walking on her leg 90% of the time, normally you have to coax them to use it at 2 weeks! So, thats great.

Love her, but she's driving me nuts =[
 
My little Chloe pup sends lots of licks to Chloe for a speedy recovery. Ive just had 2 weeks of restricted lead walking after an op on her eyes and having her speyed at the same time, its a nightmare!! You have my sympathy. The first 24 hours was OK, she was very sleepy but then she was back to full speed ahead. Stopping her from jumping on and off the sofa and racing round the garden was a full time job. She was too big for her crate with the buster collar on but her puppy playpen was useful, she would settle in it with a big selection of chewy things for a couple of hours. Best wishes for a speedy recovery (she does look like a super cute girly).
 
Tinkerbee - it is indeed a hoof! They STINK but they keep her occupied. She prefers rawhide bones (I normally get her these) but 1. she eats them in about 3 seconds and 2. when they go all gluey I don't want anything sticking to her wound when I'm out!

Burst into tears about 2. Left for babysitting at half 2. Gave her a painkiller/sedative, took her cone off for a bit, she clung to me like I'd be trying to kill her for about 15mins, then the painkiller kicked in and she went sleepy so i put her cone back on and left her in her pen again.

Will be ALOT easier when the wound is healed - although its doing pretty well already. Vet said that after 3 days they'd have to REALLY try before they manage to rip stitches.
