shetland - access to grass

just moved my 5 yr old shetland up to new yard with the other 2.. she has never had laminitis but for the last two months since ive had her has had no access to grass as the paddock was bare. the field she has now ,she is sharing with out welsh, it has been grazed over winter and recently fertilised.the grass is very short (unlike the 6inch long grass ots has in his field! ) do i need to restrict her grazing or allow her out for the same amount of time as the others, she doesnt have hard feed (her choice ) and just has a pad of hay at night

I really recoment those black mussle things that strap on round there head. *over plastic rubbing mouth piece things* They dont stop the horse eating but just getting to the rich bottom grass. Horses seem to do really well on them, means they aren't restricted, dont put weight on to effect health, and happy munching. *sorry about spelling very tried!!*

Prevention is better than cure IMO..... our shetland got laminitis years ago it was dreadful
