My showing knowledge is limited to Appaloosas only, so I’ve got a million questions and would be grateful for any other tips for showing Miniature Shetlands!
Starting small (pun not intended but it fits), what are shetlands usually shown in? This would be a 4yo mare. Bitted with a bridle, or would a Filly slip or leather headcollar and lead be ok?
I’m guessing au natural (but clean) is the turnout standard?
Would my usual showing attire of trousers, short boots, tweed, tie, shirt and hat be suitable? Do I carry a cane?
I know nothing about M&M classes, but believe I could enter those too? Are these classes ran similarly to other inhand classes in terms of format?
Also, has anyone ever shown with SPSBS? Are they a nice bunch generally?
And does CHAPS allow for miniatures?
Sorry for the question spam - I’m quite looking forward to the possibilities if plans fall into place and we/she enjoys it. My local county show doesn’t have anything for my Appy, but does for minis so would be really keen to give that a crack too as I’ve always wanted to show there.
