we've just got on trial a little Shetland for Horatio and Nas.
Horatio wont be riding her loads once or twice a week. I was wondering if anyone else keeps there's ticking over. obviously she doesn't need much, but I'm concious of her gaining weight. was thinking maybe some walks or long reining/lunging...

My girls are long since retired at 25 and 29 but they LOVE going for walks. However the reaction from some horses we see is very funny. And just to warn you they are a people magnet. Everyone will want to stop and pet the nice horsey!

Hi I lung my daughters shetland for 10 mins most days in trot to help keep his weight down otherwise he ballons. I also have a local girl ride him off the lead rein a couple of days per week so he remains a first ridden pony too. He loves hacking out with the bigger horses and getting a good blast along the stubble fields :-) x
