Any advice?

Ok so here's the problem. My Horse's left shoulder is bigger then the right. Apparently this is quite a common problem. Both my old saddle and new saddle slip(ped) to the right because of this, though the new one not so much. My new one is a made to measure close contact one and it's causing an issue with wither clearance. It's fine directly above the wither (2 fingers clear mounted, 3 unmounted) but it comes very very close to the left side of the wither, especially when rising to the trot on that diagonal. It's fine to the right side of the wither.

Had a good fitter look at it. Point angle matches shoulder, sits pretty much level front to back and there's good contact all the way along. It leaves an even sweat pattern. So, the only issue is the asymmetry.

So, I've bought a thin (the actual main pad is a lot thinner than a normal prolite) prolite multi riser pad and plan to shim one side at the front. It has 4 pockets and 2 thicknesses of shim. What side though? Now, in my mind I should shim the right (smaller) side. But, both fitters say to shim the opposite way that you think - ie the left. I've done various google searches and all suggest shim away from pressure - which would suggest I shim the right.

Help???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
