Anyone got one? On what occasions do you use it? How well does it fit and what sort of work will it stand up to?

I bought one a month ago for my boy who has had time off due to a bruised sole (we think!) It was prob caused by him losing a shoe then standing on one of the sharp rocks the farmer had put round our field entrance. So as a preventative measure for the future I got an Equi boot to put on my horse in the event of loss of a shoe.
Well he has lost one, and farrier is being his usual non-committal self. So yesterday I put on horsey's equi boot tightly and lunged him - it was fine for 15 mins then he chucked it off in canter.
If I can put it on tighter today I was planning a little walk out round the block to see how he gets on.
Does anyone use one for turnout? Schooling? Jumping? Or are they only really any good for walking out in?

They're OK but don't tend to stay on well unless you're lucky and your horse has the exact right shaped feet for them.

I would go for a Easyboot instead, with a gaiter. They're a bit more expensive but they have much more ability to adjust to fit, and the gaiter (i.e an Easyboot Epic) really helps keep them on.
