i have a shires jacket which i use for hunting. Normally wear it in the winter, so pockets arnt a problem as i wear a waistcoat underneath. But im going out for the first time this season on saturday and i think it will be too warm to wear waistcoat.
My jacket isnt a showing jacket but the pockets are sewed up, but they do exist because i can feel them through the material!. So has anyone else cut through the stitching? im a bit worried as it is a lovely jacket and i dont want to ruin it!!!!

Any quality jacket has the pockets sewn shut to start with. If you can feel the pockets you should be able to unpick the stitches fairly easily. My OH's tailored work suits (those were the days

) always had the pockets sewn shut.
