Anyone heard of or had experience of the Shires Karben Junior Jockey Skull?
Do they suit a round or oval shaped head?
Trying to find a helmet to suit my head shape that’s ok for all riding club activities.
 
I didn't even know shires did helments! The safety specificaltion is the absolute minimum. PAS015:2011 only. For £7 - £10 more (depending on your size) you can get a skull tested to VG01 which is better protection.

Ideally you should have a hat professionally fitted. You only have one head - whether it is round or oval! Plus the shop can adjust the fitting so it is more suitable for you - and will usually do so again when the padding compresses in a few months time.

And you don't have to worry about what the delivery company did to it when the drop kicked the box! Sad that the usual show opportunities for professional fitting and a discount are all off the summer but your local tack shop will appreciate your buisness.

I thought the PAS standard was the highest, but I think I’m confused with PAS015 actually and I thought VG1 was only equivalent to the EN1384 standard? The last hat I bought I had fitted at the local tack shop and it has never fitted properly, I have to put it on the back of my head as if I put it on correctly it gives me a headache, I have an oval head and the hat is too round, I’ve had it too long to return so I’m going to fit my own this time!
