Has anybody tried (or seen!) these?

I don't have a whole lot of money to spend but I could use some boots for competitions, mine are worn out. They certainly look smart enough for synthetic materials (we've come a long way from rubber boots! Although I note you can still buy those...) :D But then it's hard to tell from product photos - they always look good!

I can't find any reviews...

Did you buy these in the end? I can't find any reviews either. I have just bought these for my daughter and she has worn them once to her riding school. She said her stirrup kept slipping to the back of her foot, or the stirrup kept slipping off her foot completely. Not sure if that is due to her riding on that particular day, or the lack of stirrup tread on her saddle? I didn't know if others have found the soles were too smooth?

I didn't, sorry! Interesting to note, though. Do they look particularly smooth?

I've had some boots start that way, and lots of boots end up that way. I finally realised that changing the boot isn't the cheapest solution - getting some stirrups with cheesegrater treads is! Then even when your soles wear a bit flat it doesn't matter :)

I tried a pair of these, had to send them back, they were far to big in the ankles for me and looked really chunky/inelegant on. There was a post on one of the eventing groups recently about the covering of these boots disintegrating within a couple of months despite careful use.
