Shires rugs

How do they come up size wise. I have a 15.2h gelding who is in a weatherbeeta lightweight rug at the mo but have been offered a Shires winter typhoon combo for him. he does have quite big shoulders but isn't hugely wide across the chest at the moment but is filling out, The weatherbeeter is a 6ft 3 but the rug i have been offered is a 6ft 6.

So my question is do they come up generous and if so will the 6ft 6 be too big.

From my own shires I would say they are pretty accurate for sizings

I would say they are comparable with Weatherbeeta size wise...

I agree. My big shouldered TB has a 6ft Shires, she also fits 6ft in Weatherbeeta (both done up on the shortest fitting at the chest), but she needs 6ft 3 for Amigo. My LW chestnut mare needs the same sizes but both Weatherbeeta and Shires are too big around the neck for her.
