Has anyone bought these to use out hacking? Am sorely tempted to try them, but at £17.50 don't want to get them, find they bounce around like buggery and then gets left to dust in the tackroom!
Meg would tolerate them I'm sure, but it would irritate me more than anything if they aren't very stable.
Just starting to get out and about and would appreciate something to keep a drink in, and emergency food/insulin as diabetic!

Thanks in advance :)

yes i have, brilliant!!!! the drink bottles they come with are great too. spacious pockets, i attach mine very short to the saddle and they dont budge!!! theres some on fb for 12 quid, will check now!

I've got some, used them for carrying food/waterproofs on long fun rides.

Admittedly we were generally going at a slowish pace, but I can't recall them being a problem when we did have a bit of a canter or gallop. I fitted them pretty snugly underneath the back of the saddle and pulled in close to the flaps, so the saddle sort of holds them down iyswim?

You can fit a surprising amount of stuff in the bags but the bottles don't hold much!

Stowaway bags are also really good, they look small but are deceptively big and have loads of little pockets for first.aid kit, money etc. They do a water bottle carrier too. I got mine from performance equestrian.

Plus if you are in to matchy matchy you can get whatever colour you like - mine are just boring black though!

I'd be interested in any reviews of other pannier brands. I had wanted a Barefoot one to go with my saddle but think I'll be more sensible/practical with budget.

Does anyone know of panniers if you haven't got a saddle on? I lead my nearly four year old on trips as well as ride and it would be great if I could put my stuff on him rather than in my rucksack?

Thank you
Hannah

Thanks everyone! Seems like they'll be worth getting, I just worry if I'm out in the forest and get low blood sugar, I'd be screwed!

Thanks for FB link too, pixiebee, will PM the guy now! x

I've used the Shires saddle bags on English & Western saddles and they are really great for the money and don't flap at the canter if you strap them up tight. The zips won't last for ever though. Just looked at the Stowaway bags, they are neat, thanks for that info.
