Yes, used to always use Rambo sweet itch ones, but these are great and not half as expensive.

However... I was primarily using them to give more coverage from horse flies, but the Shires stripey one seems to do better at that, so I barely used it last year as it is a bit heavier than the stripey one.

I would imagine the proper sweetitch one is better for midges though.

Mine has one, she's had it for 4 years (I think, maybe 3), it's still in perfect condition but she's not a rug-wrecker and isn't in a field with barbed wire fencing. My only complaint is that the neck is a little long for my horse; sometimes she ends up wearing the ear holes over her eyes instead (!) but she doesn't seem to mind :).

I have a couple of their sweet itch rugs as well as Premier Equine. I think the Shires are a bit lighter so pony wears these when it gets hotter.
